Late Art Nouveau period (c. 1910) lighted sculpture in bronze. The female figure stands on a rock work base draped with a flowing dress that typifies the style. A series of foliate lamps are inset at her feet and hips, along with further lamps set within her hair. Signed on the base L. Alliot, Lucien Charles Edoard Alliot (1877-1967) studied in Paris and exhibited at the Salon and widely across Europe. He is closely associated with the Art Nouveau period and continued work in the genre well after it’s zeitgeist. The present work is an exemplary representation of the period, the style and the artist.
